What is the LEAF? What does it do? 
How is the LEAF different from other activity trackers?
The LEAF device analyzes breathing using a metric for evaluating stress, and the app provides guidance that helps users to manage their stress levels. The LEAF app is also able to shed light on women’s reproductive health by allowing them to input and track their period, estimate when they are ovulating, and track their use of contraception. The LEAF system then allows users to see how all aspects of their health are related by providing an overview of sleep, activity, and stress, along with their monthly cycles.
How will LEAF help me?
By tracking your breathing, the LEAF can notify you when you are tense and help with quantifying and relieving stress. By tracking every movement, the LEAF can tell you when you need more or less activity via a vibrating smart alarm, which goes off based on your activity preferences. By measuring how long you spend in each sleep stage, the LEAF tells you how long and how well you’ve slept. The LEAF app can also help with understanding your reproductive health through ovulation, period, and contraception tracking.
What colors does it come in?
The original LEAF design is crafted using elegant and recyclable American ashwood in a neutral beige color combined with hypoallergenic stainless steel. The LEAF also comes in a Limited Edition combination of 7,000 year old Marshwood with durable golden steel plating.
Is it water resistant? Can I wear it swimming or take a shower with it?
The LEAF is not a water resistant or waterproof product. It can handle sweat during workout.
What is the LEAF made of?
The original LEAF design is crafted using elegant and recyclable American Ashwood in a neutral beige color combined with hypoallergenic stainless steel. Stainless steel was used because it is durable and doesn’t cause skin irritation. For added protection, all electronics are enclosed in plastic and silicon inside of the wooden housing.
How do you charge it? How long does the battery last?
The LEAF operates on a removable coin cell battery CR 2032 that can easily be replaced when it is exhausted. The battery life is approximately 6 months.
How does LEAF track my movement, sleep, and stress?
The LEAF has highly accurate sensors that measure every movement including large movements like running, walking, and climbing, as well as small movements like breathing (while you are in a seated or in a stationary position). The LEAF measures the rise and fall of your breath, which is used as a metric for stress. By tracking your every movement, the LEAF measures your overall activity and reminds you when you could use more or less activity. By measuring how long you spend in each sleep stage, the LEAF tells you how long and how well you’ve slept.
How do I know it's accurate?
Extensive testing and accuracy comparisons conducted with other trackers on the market resulted in 95% accuracy.
How well does the LEAF work if you can't wear it for part of the day?
The LEAF can detect idle time (i.e. if it is left on a table), and for that time it ceases tracking and notifications.
Will it work if I cycle, do yoga, or other non-step-based workouts?
It will not recognize the type of activity you are engaged in, but it will recognize and calculate your movement.
How does the LEAF estimate the calories I've burned?
The LEAF app calculates calories burned by calculating your stride length (based on your height and gender) and your average calorie burned per mile (based on your weight). Resting metabolic rate indicates the amount of calories you burn while in a resting position (low activity or sleep).
How do I transfer my LEAF to another user?
You must first unpair the LEAF in the app settings, and then it can be transferred to another user.
How does the LEAF track ovulation?
The LEAF app estimates your ovulation days using period entries which have been entered into the app.
How does the LEAF track breathing?
The LEAF tracks breathing by measuring the rise and fall of your breath using highly accurate movement sensors. The device needs to be clipped to the waistband of your tights or pants in order to accurately measure this movement.
How does stress monitoring work?
Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain that has not only one source but is more the product of physical and mental imbalance. The LEAF product is a combination of the LEAF health tracker and the LEAF app. These two parts, functioning as one, monitor your stress using the data gathered from your sleep, activity, breathing and menstrual patterns. Based on all the data, the LEAF can detect moments of higher and lower stress levels in your body and help you cope with it through targeted breathing exercises to calm your mind and regain focus.
How do I track breathing?
The breath tracking is a special feature of the LEAF. To make the best of it you should follow these simple instructions. First place the LEAF as a clip on your waistband, slightly on the side, so that it can measure the abdominal movements while breathing. Then you select the desired breathing exercise in the LEAF app and try to perform the exercise as precise as you can to enhance the effects of the exercise.

The app receives all information from the LEAF wirelessly via low energy bluetooth technology, making it an easy and safe experience.
How does the app come up with the insights it gives me?
The app analyzes respiratory patterns and provides breathing exercises, which aid in lowering blood pressure and reducing tension. It also tracks and analyzes activity habits by learning and logging all movements throughout the day and providing advice on how and when to be more active. The app provides data about the total duration of your sleep as well as the amount of time spent in light and deep sleep. The app also tracks reproductive health by providing timelines and data on period and ovulation cycles, giving women a better understanding of their reproductive health.
Can I set an alarm using the LEAF?
Yes, you can not only use the LEAF to wake you up in the morning, but it can also be set to gently vibrate with other health reminders. The LEAF enables you to set up to three alarms, which can be for one-time or recurring alerts.
Will the LEAF connect with other apps?
Yes, future versions of the LEAF are planned to sync with nutrition, women’s health, and activity apps.
What languages does the app support?
English only (as we expand to other markets we will add new languages).
Will the LEAF have an API?
Yes, this is planned for the future.
I'm having problems syncing. What should I do?
1. Double tap your LEAF again.
2. Position the LEAF closer to your phone.
3. Move away from other LEAF devices.

Do you need to keep your phone close at all times in order to save your tracking data?
You don't need to have your phone with you at all times. The LEAF gathers all of your data throughout the day and night. Syncing can be done any time that you would like to see your current data. The LEAF is able to gather and store your data for up to 14 days without syncing.

Will the LEAF bracelet irritate my skin?
The metal clip is made of hypoallergenic stainless steel (it has neither copper nor zinc in it), which is skin-friendly for most people and even those with sensitive skin. We tested our device rigorously, including a nickel release test which ensures that the stainless steel does not release anything that is harmful to your skin.
What is the length of the necklace? Is it adjustable?
The length of the necklace is 16 inches and then the chain can extend an additional 5 inches using the additional metal loops.
How can I wear it as a clip?
When worn as a clip, It can be attached to the hem of your shirt or blouse, a pocket, or the waistband of your tights or pants. It is important to not attach the LEAF to fabrics thicker than 2mm in order to protect the attaching mechanism of the clip.
What type of wood is the LEAF made from?
The Leaf is crafted from solid American ashwood. The Limited Edition LEAF was made using exclusive 7,000 year old Marshwood which was previously deceased, preserved in silt, and sustainably harvested by trained divers.
